Superfast bikes look a bit like jellybeans

Currently being developed at the University of Liverpool, this odd-looking contraption is, in fact, a motorcycle and will go down in history because the fastest human-powered vehicle. Called the ARION1, its makers claim the velocipede is 40 times more aerodynamic than a Bugatti Veyron and will travel at 145 kilometres (90 miles) per hour on smooth road. the present record for a pedal-powered vehicle is 133.8 kilometres (83.13 miles) per hour - set in 2013 - but the ARION1 is seeking to raised this at 2015's World Human Power Speed Challenge.
